Hope Hostel Hatyai

The room was comfortable and clean, though it had a slight smell because there are no windows or exhaust fan for ventilation. The location is handy, with Kim Yong Market across the street and plenty of places within walking distance. For destinations a bit farther away, like Hatyai Central, Grab is more convenient. A decent place to stay, recommended.

Our room for six was spacious, and it was very clean. The hotel is close to Kim Yong Market, with Amazon cafe and Toro fries also within walking distance. There’s a 7 Eleven about 200 metres away, though it often didn’t have burgers or whatever else you might be looking for. Drivers for Grab and Tuktuk often didn’t know the hotel, since it’s tucked behind Kim Yong. The staff spoke a little English, but the payment machine had a problem on our check-in day. There’s a dining area and ironing board on Level 5. Keep in mind that family rooms are on level 3 or higher, and getting there means climbing about three flights of stairs, so it isn’t suitable for wheelchair users or older people.

The receptionist was really nice and helpful, and our bed was cosy. The bathroom was clean and had doors, though the wash basin is shared. It was very quiet on weekdays and got busier at the weekend. Kimyong Market is nearby, and Lee Garden and the Train Station are about a 10-minute walk away.

I had some great lattes and good service from two lovely young women. There’s no food, but the seating is nice, with a little bar area by the window and one small table outside. Just right for me, and I’d recommend stopping by if you’re in this neighborhood. 😊 - November 2024
