Hub Hostel Hatyai

The cleaner was friendly, but the receptionist was needlessly rude. There’s no drinking water. The dorm setup is unusual in a good way: you can close a door around your bed, and the beds themselves are really nice. Just note that only the lower bunks have curtains. The space is generous if you’re travelling alone, but two people with large luggage might find it tight. The wooden floors carry every stomp, and quite a few middle-aged Asian men staying there walked around half dressed without seeming to consider anyone else. It’s right by the train station, but otherwise I found the location awful, in the middle of a tourist area that stays very busy and noisy into the night.

The staff were friendly and ready to help arrange travel at the counter, which was convenient. The location is also a strong point, just a two-minute walk from Lee Garden Plaza, with a Starbucks across the street and many Hatyai attractions within walking distance. The room itself had limited space and little privacy: its plastic doors were like bathroom doors, and the open roof meant you could hear everything in the neighboring rooms, making private conversations difficult. Noisy wooden floors added to the poor soundproofing.

The dorm was clean and spacious, with comfortable bunks that had lights, power, and curtains. Towels are available on request. It’s on the third floor. The hostel is close to the tourist street food area and just a few blocks from the train station. It felt a little pricey, probably because they keep the air conditioning on all day even in an empty dorm.

We stayed in one spacious, comfortable room with four friends, and the price was affordable. The room was clean, and the shower room was outside, but it was nice and fresh. Hadyai and Songkhla were easy to get around from here, and it’s close to the train station. Getting to Malaysia's border was cheap too. It was an amazing stay.
