Leevana Hotel Hat Yai

We booked at the last minute after deciding to reach hatyai at night. The bathroom was acceptably clean, and the air conditioning got super cold by midnight. The room looked clean at first but not very clean up close, and it seemed a bit old. The mattress was very hard, so I had a hard time sleeping. The photos look new, but the room needs maintenance.

The room was excellent for what we paid, MYR 250 for two nights on a weekend without a school or public holiday. It had a mini fridge, fresh towels, a clean comfortable bed with nice sheets, and hot and cold water with good pressure. The walls are thin, though. I could hear a neighbor's phone alarm vibrating in the morning, and loud people walking past were easy to hear too. It's a calmer area, about 15 minutes from Lee Garden Hotel, and the hotel has parking with guards nearby watching the cars. We were driving from Malaysia, so that was convenient. I tipped the guards even though it wasn't necessary, maybe they'll keep an extra eye on the car 🤭👀. The receptionists were nice and kept smiling, and check-in was quick, which we appreciated after an exhausting eight-hour drive. They ask for a 100 THB cash security deposit. I'm not sure whether they take other currencies or credit cards for that. There is only one lift as far as I know, and it can get busy during the day. We were on level 3 and used the stairs to go down because it was faster, so it didn't bother us much. Chabura Dim Sum is right in front of the hotel, with a 7-Eleven next door and a few shops nearby to walk around. We'd definitely consider staying again.

I had a confirmed booking for one night but arrived to find that the hotel had cancelled it without telling me. After more than 14 hours on a bus, I was exhausted and just needed somewhere to rest. The receptionist kept saying “booking cancelled” and gave no explanation. I hadn't asked to cancel, and there was no email, SMS, or other notice. Even when I showed my confirmation, the hotel offered no help or alternative, and I was left without a room because of a cancellation they had made. A frustrating and disappointing experience that could have been avoided with basic communication.
