PB Grand Hotel

The corridors carry sound, so you can hear other guests walking and chatting. The rooms are old, though they were clean and seemed well looked after. We had a comfortable bed and found the room clean. The property was quiet and not crowded, with plenty of parking, and some good restaurants are within walking distance. It’s about 3 km from the city center. Friendly, welcoming staff and good value for the money.

The unequal treatment in the parking area left a very bad impression. When we arrived in our car with Malaysian plates, the security guard saw us enter but stayed seated on his phone. The lower level was full, so we had to drive back up and find a space without any help. Then a car with Thailand plates arrived, and the same guard got up right away to guide it into a spot. That difference was clear and unacceptable. All guests deserve professional, equal treatment regardless of nationality or registration. I hope management takes this seriously and makes sure the service is consistent.

We were there during the Hat Yai flood, from Nov 22-27, and the hotel staff made sure we were safe, distributing food and water. Manager Nina and her team helped us so much. Nina even swam out to find food, climbed up to the tank for water, and managed to make a fire to heat water and cook food. She was our hero. Huge thanks to the owner, Manager Nina, the staff, and the other guests who helped us through that time. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit. See you all again.

The room and bathroom were both clean and spacious, though the shower pressure was weak. Still, it’s a good affordable hotel.
