Pearl Place Hotel

I stayed here for two months after the manager agreed to rent the room to me for a reasonable price. The hotel is in decent condition, and my room was always quiet. There’s a lively street with food and shops nearby, as well as a pharmacy, and Big C Extra is close too. You can pick up drinks, snacks, and other things on the first floor. I recommend it.

The balcony had a great view, and the receptionist could speak Malay. It’s a quiet place, and after a tiring day exploring, I slept well. There was dust around the place, though, and it’s some distance from the city area, even if Grab can get there easily. I stayed in December 2023 and think we paid about RM100 for two days in a room for two.

The room on the seventh floor was clean and a good place to stay, and there’s private parking. It’s very close to Big C. The hotel feels about 30 years old, but if that condition suits the price, it’s not a problem.

The lift has a good security feature: you touch your key before choosing a floor. The catch is that you can’t leave the key behind or leave someone in the room while you go downstairs, since you won’t be able to get back up by lift. The place is nice, and the receptionist speaks Malay. There’s no kettle in the room, but I was told free hot water is available at reception.
