We picked this nine-storey Sakura Hotel for its roomy twin room, budget price, and walkable access to local spots. The train station, Odean shopping mall, Lee Garden Plaza and night market, and Kim Yong market are roughly 7-15 minutes away on foot. Reception and room cleaning service were good, and we got two free bottles of water each day. Jiranakorn Market, also called Florida Night Market, is another dinner option just 450 meters away. There was a slight moldy smell when we first entered, but opening the window soon cleared it. There’s no hair dryer, which may be inconvenient for women, and the WiFi wasn’t strong in the room.

The hotel feels very dated, and the toilets weren’t clean. They wouldn’t provide a second key card for two guests, and there were no extra pillows in the room. For the price, I suppose you can’t expect much. Being close to town is its one saving grace.

For budget tourists, the place is okay. It was my first stay, and the room was clean with acceptable beds. The bathroom has a tub but no shower screen, and the door’s security lock needs repair. A few springs poke through the bed edges and you can feel them by hand. The front desk was helpful, though communication was a bit difficult. WiFi was somewhat weak.

The building is under maintenance, but I wasn’t told when I booked online. They kept the payment and gave no information at all. There’s no security at the location. What a stupid way to run a business.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Sakura Hotel. There was a strong bad smell in both the toilet and the room, which made it really uncomfortable. I also found it wasn’t Muslim-friendly. I asked for a prayer mat, but they said they didn’t have one. When I asked whether I could use an extra towel instead, the front office refused unless I paid 50 baht. That’s unacceptable. This was my first and last booking here.
