The Regency Hotel Hatyai

Housekeeping did an excellent job, but the restaurant staff weren't very friendly and their service could be better. The hotel is centrally located, with food stalls, malls, and other attractions all within walking distance. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the TV has only a limited selection of channels.

I won't stay here again. The hotel asked for my passport as a deposit at check-in, and checkout turned into an argument. Two women at the counter wanted to fine me 1500 baht because there were four people in the room, including two children. When I asked why and called my husband to deal with it, the fine was lowered to 1000 baht. I wasn't satisfied and asked for my passport back without paying.

I've stayed here regularly, including two years ago, but this was a bad experience. I checked in on 06/03/2026 and was due to check out on 07/03/2026 at 12. At 10 that morning, I asked housekeeping staff cleaning rooms on the 19th floor for a complimentary drink, since the drinks in my room were finished. They said I couldn't have one and didn't give me water, even though checkout was still two hours away. Does that mean guests can't ask for a drink before checkout? I asked the front desk, and the staff member in a black jacket said housekeeping didn't know. What kind of standard is that? I'll never stay here again.

I was only 30 minutes late checking out and still got charged an expensive fee. For an ordinary hotel, that poor service isn't worth the money. There was no iron in the room, and the staff and hotel manager came across as unprofessional and unfriendly.
