The shared Onsen serves all four villas, with a warm-water section in the middle. Even so, it felt private, since each villa has its own entrance to the pool. Our Beachfront Onsen Villa (Villa 2) faced a beautiful sea view right outside, and the restaurant and swimming pool were conveniently to the right. The property is small, secluded, and a good fit for a peaceful break. I stayed over New Year with my 1-year-old child. The room was spotless and smelled relaxing, and having a water purifier there was especially handy. The staff were attentive and even brought plain milk for the little one. Breakfast had a modest selection, but covered Thai food, Dim Sum, American breakfast, salad, bread, milk, and juice. For dinner there was Thai food, grilled seafood, pizza, and pasta, a handy choice when you’re tired from traveling and don’t want to go out.

It’s an easygoing location for Cicada or Tammarine market, with local restaurants and a 7/11 within walking distance. The staff were warm and helpful. The hotel is small, but has what you need, with full amenities. I especially liked the water, coffee capsules, and TWG tea. There were lots of breakfast choices, including Thai, Western, and dimsum, and it was delicious.

We spent three days and two nights at Kundala, and I’m heading back to Bangkok now. I wanted to share how much I enjoyed it. The place is simply styled, with roomy, attractive rooms and everything needed. The front desk team were warm, friendly, and ready to help. Breakfast wasn’t huge in terms of choice, but the dishes were all delicious. They clearly put quality ahead of quantity. Make sure to try the pastries, especially the egg dishes from the special menu. The location also makes it convenient to visit Hua Hin’s attractions. Kundala is well worth considering for a trip to Hua Hin.

My score came to 91: rooms 27.5/30, facilities 32/35, service 13.5/15, location 9.5/10, and food 8.5/10. The room was pleasant and fairly spacious, though nothing special. The hot tub, pool, and direct beach access helped the facilities score. It’s close to the beach.

We came for a private dinner by the sea rather than an overnight stay. The setting and view were beautiful, and it felt very private. The grilled duck breast was really nice. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a private experience.
