Variety D-Day Hostel Hua-Hin

It's a good value hostel in a convenient spot, run by hardworking, kind locals. Staff were polite and helpful, even carrying luggage up the stairs in this five floor building. My room was small, but clean and enough for my needs. It's mostly private rooms, and there isn't a bar area for meeting other guests, as you might expect at a hostel. There's a living room style reception space to hang out in from 9-21, if I remember right, plus a guest terrace upstairs that closes at midnight.

After booking what the site described as a 25 m studio apartment, I checked in and found a 10 m room with no closet, just a table and one outlet. The owner said the remaining 15 m was the balcony, but what she called a balcony was really a hallway with an open window, shared as a passageway by other guests. That felt completely deceptive and like false advertising. There was no refund, so once you book, you're stuck like Chuck. Attached are pictures of my 25 m or 250 ft.² room.

I stayed five days in Hua Hin. The room was clean and practical, the location was good, and the staff were kind and welcoming.

Loved this place. We'll definitely come back next time.
