I keep coming back to Koh Jum Joy Resort, and the food is still one of the best parts. It’s fresh and full of flavor, and the higher prices feel in line with Thailand in 2026 and what’s happening elsewhere. The meal, eaten by that peaceful view, is hard to match. The bungalows have been updated since I first visited. They’re cleaner and more comfortable now, but still have the wood and natural, rustic feel that makes the place feel like a Thai island rather than a catalog. They handled that balance really well. Getting around is easy with the motorbike rentals. Once, all the scooters were already out, so someone from the Joy Resort team lent me his own bike so I could explore. That generosity says a lot about the people here. Koh Jum is still wonderfully quiet, with sea and jungle and no crowds, neon signs, or chaos. Joy Resort has always understood that calm. I’ll be back soon.

We left halfway through our stay. The hotel didn’t seem surprised, which made me think we might not have been the only guests to feel this way. The location is good, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating, but the rooms badly need renovation. Termite damage was visible in the beams and walls, and insects and mosquitoes could get inside easily. There were no mosquito nets, and the latches and handles were rusty. If you’re after very basic, cheap accommodation, it may suit you, but I couldn’t recommend it over the other nearby villas.

A really relaxing beachside stay, with lovely warm staff and a great beach bar. The bungalows are charming, breakfast was great, and the food was fab too. There are free kayaks, and it’s a lovely place to disconnect. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

The hotel is on the island’s best beach, and the staff can arrange a taxi or rent you a motorbike right there. We had a wonderful two-night stay, with everyone working here so helpful and kind. Breakfast wasn’t huge, but it had the basics and was cooked really well.

Joy has a welcoming feel, and the hospitality is genuine. The service feels personal, and you can tell care has gone into the design and the effort to make guests comfortable. A lovely spot with great energy, highly recommended.
