Orchard Pa La U

It’s a beautiful place surrounded by nature and close to the waterfall. We stayed three nights, and the water stopped working on two mornings. It came back later, but with low pressure, though we could still use the jacuzzi. The pool was closed, breakfast was very basic, just eggs and ham, and there aren’t many local restaurants to choose from.

We left after one night feeling as though we’d spent two days in a faraway magical garden. It’s a serene, homely little getaway, with beautiful flowers, cactus gardens, and unusual plants and wildlife. We loved wandering through the gardens on bicycles, and the resident cats became favorites. Food was served on our room patio, and the Thai cuisine was amazing. The staff and owners were welcoming and friendly. You can feel the work that goes into the garden, which makes the place feel a million miles from busier centers. It would suit a short or romantic break, and it’s also a great base for exploring Pala U waterfalls. Good for the soul, highly recommended.

A relaxed, low-key place to unplug. The staff are wonderful, and the chicken cashew nut stir fry is amazing. I’d recommend it for a night or two.

A special hidden gem in Thailand, far from the hustle and bustle, with all the luxuries you might need. The garden is world class, with fruit you can pick and eat straight from the trees, and the cats are incredibly friendly. Service was good too. The staff had limited English but were eager to help.
