Cafe del Mar Hotel

We had a lovely evening at Cafe Del Mar Phuket. Getting there between 4 and 7 PM worked well, and we were lucky to find a great table before it got busier later on. The shisha and cocktails were excellent, and the music made for a great atmosphere. Cloudy weather meant we missed the sunset, but the beautiful setting and overall feel more than made up for it. A fantastic place to unwind in Phuket.

The ocean views and atmosphere were amazing, and the service was exceptional. Pop and Amm looked after us so well, with great hospitality and attention to detail that made our visit even better. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

The atmosphere, food, and drinks were good, and the F&B manager kindly called me after my review to explain what happened. He said they'd had POS system issues and the staff forgot to deduct our deposit, which shouldn't have happened. It was very nice of him to follow up, and it showed they care. Still, check the final bill carefully to make sure your reservation deposit has been taken off. Ours appeared as a line item with THB 0 beside it, so the total was wrong. If we hadn't noticed, we'd have been overcharged. It's easy to miss, especially after drinking, so stay alert.

The atmosphere was the main letdown for us. We went on a Wednesday evening in May and the place was quite empty, so it lacked some of the energy a beach club needs. It also felt more like a lounge restaurant than the full-on beach club and dance venue we'd pictured. If you expect a lively party with people dancing in the sand, adjust your expectations. Still, the food, drinks, service, and venue were all excellent, so five stars. The setup and design felt premium, and the staff were friendly and attentive, keeping drinks topped up without hovering. The food and drinks were high quality and justified the higher prices. It's not a cheap night out, but the value felt fair and we didn't leave feeling ripped off. Pick your timing and go with the right expectations, and you can have a fantastic time.
