Keemala Resort

The hotel feels like a different world, with a very distinctive atmosphere and design, and breakfast was excellent. But a few details fell short of the luxury experience: we had no hot water, and staff started clearing breakfast while we were still eating. The price was extremely high. One night here could cost as much as 10 days at another 5-star hotel in Phuket city center. If your budget allows, I'd recommend trying it for just one night.

Waking up to birdsong, with only trees and sky around us, is hard to describe. Our private villa had its own pool and an outdoor shower, with jungle all around, and it felt wonderfully far from everything. Yeam, our butler, was warm, never intrusive, and somehow always a step ahead. That kind of attentiveness is rare and sets Keemala apart from other high-end resorts on the island. We were on our honeymoon, and this place made it feel like one. It's one of those rare hotels that looks even better in person than in the pictures. Worth every penny, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

Moving around the steep property is easy thanks to the caddies that take guests between places. The saltwater pool, waterfall, and jungle view are stunning and so relaxing. The resort is peaceful and feels special, with wooden villas set among ponds and lush vegetation on a jungle hillside. It's also a short drive from Kamala and Patong. Keemala is one of the most unique hotels we've stayed at in Phuket.

Keemala has stunning, distinctive villas, and everything is beautifully designed. The food, especially at Mala Restaurant, was outstanding, and the resort felt peaceful and luxurious. We chose it for our honeymoon, and it was a beautiful, memorable experience overall. Unfortunately, our assigned host Ceyla was disappointing. She wasn't very responsive, and after we gave feedback about a hotel-sponsored tour she had recommended, her communication became noticeably distant. The tour itself was very poor. At checkout there was no farewell, thank-you message, or acknowledgment, even though we left a generous tip. For a resort at this level and a honeymoon, that felt impersonal and unexpected. Keemala is truly exceptional, but more consistent host service would bring the experience close to perfect.
