Sabina Guesthouse

The owners are lovely and happy to have a little chat. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are nice, close to restaurants and the beach. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The only reason we took off a star was the street noise in my family’s room. Traffic disturbed their sleep, and the extra bed for my little sister was a bit uncomfortable. Our own room at the back was much quieter, though not completely silent, and fine for the location. Sabina was very accommodating and let us check out late, which we appreciated so much. My family, my partner and I spent a week at Sabina Guesthouse and really enjoyed it. We had a lovely little room in the backyard area with a spacious terrace where the five of us could sit together in the evenings to play games, eat and chat. The air conditioning worked perfectly, everything was clean, and the room was tidied almost every day. Breakfast was à la carte and always delicious. We especially liked the waffles and pancakes, and the American breakfast was good too. We usually prefer a buffet, though we know that’s not very common in Thailand. One day, the whole of Kamala lost electricity and water because of nearby construction, so that wasn’t the guesthouse’s fault. There was one other night without water in our room, probably because we forgot to manually press the toilet flush button back up after flushing. The beach is walkable, with restaurants, travel agencies, massage salons and other places nearby. Sabina and her family are incredibly kind and helpful. We’re grateful for their hospitality. We loved this place for its authentic, artistic touches. There were flowers and a lovely balcony right on the street where we could have drinks and smoke, and the neighbors were enjoyable too. The location was excellent, only a three-minute walk to the beach. The local family who run the guest house were charming and took such good care of us. They gave us a good price for the room, and we couldn’t have expected better at that rate. The first-floor room was clean and tidy, with air conditioning and all the furniture we needed. We found interesting things like brown sugar and mostly homemade healthy food. Breakfast included a peach and strawberry jam, something I don’t see often in Thailand. For this price, we couldn’t ask for more. I’d recommend it to couples, families, solo travelers, young or old, pretty much everyone. Thanks again for the stay. Jo

Great in every way. The road gets a lot of traffic, so there can be a little noise, but it’s also good for people-watching.
