The Pe La Resort, Phuket

The pool was a highlight, clean, relaxing, and nicely designed for both lounging and enjoying a swim. The place itself is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Khun Ton and the other staff were extremely friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which made us more comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.

We stayed for one night while in transit to Koh Yao Yai, and the place far exceeded my expectations. The room was huge, with a huge balcony, two TVs, and everything we needed. I booked it for around 2.8k baht for one night. Markets and shops are a five-minute walk away, though the hotel is on the outskirts of Kamala beach area. There was construction nearby, but it didn’t really bother us during our one-night stay. Extreme value for money and an awesome property. Perfect if you’re in transit or traveling as a family.

A day before we were due to leave, they told us we had to switch rooms because of an ‘electrical problem.’ We had to repack everything and lost time. Later that day, we found out they’d actually given our room to other guests. It didn’t feel like an honest or ethical way to handle the situation.

It’s a peaceful place to stay, though you do have to cross a busy road to reach the beach. The grounds are lovely shady gardens with two pools, and the hotel is very small and quaint, with five bungalows and 15 suites or rooms. It must have been very splendid in its day and is a bit run down in places now, but I love the authentic feel. The rooms are huge. Our suite is spacious and refurbished to a really good standard, and the bathroom and shower are better than mine at home. Every room has a balcony table and chairs. The road crossing is the only downside for us, but the quiet setting makes it worthwhile.
