West Key Kamala Apartment

The apartment is bright, airy, and quiet, with a lovely balcony view. There's a water dispenser and coin-operated washing machines on site, which came in handy. Cats are everywhere, so it's ideal for cat lovers. It's tucked at the back of the village, very close to the hills for hiking. A coffee shop and an ice cream parlour run by lovely people are about a five-minute drive away. We love this place.

The staff were lovely, and there are a few cute local restaurants nearby. The area is quiet, and the apartment was spacious, with a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. It was air conditioned and very clean, with a comfortable bed. The free shuttle to the beach was really convenient. I enjoyed my stay.

The owners are working on the landscaping, which is a big plus, and the service staff are friendly and pleasant. We were satisfied with our stay and recommend these apartments because the staff pay attention to their guests. We'd wanted to stay here before but couldn't find an available unit. This time we were lucky, and we have no regrets. When checking in, you need to leave a deposit. They asked us for 9,000 baht, but Administrator Yu agreed to take it in dollars, which was convenient. You can also rent a motorbike or car, though the prices are a little higher than elsewhere. That makes sense, since the bikes and cars are new. We were placed in a new building on arrival, and seemed to be the first guests there. Everything was new and very nice. Our studio was on the third floor, with a large kitchen and living area, bedroom, and loggia. Guests in another building had mentioned the kitchen area lacked an extra air conditioner. One was installed for us on our second day, which was nice. Administrator Yu was sociable and attentive to tenants' requests, at least while we were there. Rooms are cleaned and bed linen changed once a week. There's a small river near our building that runs around the hotel's perimeter. Its source is at a waterfall above. There's also a small gym and a pool. The downside is the distance from the sea, 2.4 km, so you'll definitely need transport. Even getting food means a long walk to the nearest store. But WKK accounts for this: a tuk tuk mini bus runs every hour from reception to Kamala Beach, 09.00 AM to 08.40 PM, and can stop at Big C, 7/11, and the market on request. For us, being away from civilization was actually a big plus. At WKK, or West Key Kamala, it's nearly silent, with awesome jungle views from the window.

The apartment was huge and amazing, and the place was clean. The bed felt like a cloud, I slept better than at home. Unbeatable value for money. I'll come back!
