Milin Villa

The host was brilliant and did so much to make our stay comfortable. He picked us up at the bus station, shared information about places and activities, and called a taxi for us. Breakfast was nice, and they were happy to accommodate our individual wishes. Millin Villa is a very new, well designed resort surrounded by nature. We could hear the peaceful sounds in the evening, yet it wasn't far from the city center. The rooms were modern and very clean. Booking Milin Villa was easily the best decision for our stay in Kanchanaburi. I can totally recommend it.

It's peaceful and relaxing, with rooms arranged around a small lake. The rooms are bright and clean, and each has a little patio with a table and chairs. The bathroom was nice too. The resort is a bit outside town, but the owner can arrange transport if needed. He speaks English and is very helpful.

We stayed in December 2018, and after reading older reviews, it felt like the place had gone downhill quickly. Our first room had a broken shower, and apparently nobody had checked it before we arrived. We moved rooms, then noticed drops of blood on the floor. We assumed it was menstrual blood from the previous guest since nobody had been injured, but still, really? The cleaning was unusually poor. Nobody cleaned the room or even took out the trash, and ants got all over our food. The power went out too. The owner kindly lent us a flashlight for a couple of hours. Breakfast wasn't good, either. We weren't allowed to wear shoes in the dining room, and I stepped on a chipped glass and cut my foot. The owner and staff were helpful overall, but the place clearly needs better management to maintain its reputation. We booked because of the good reviews we'd read, and our experience was quite different. I think it's important to share what it was like for us as guests.

Beo was one of the nicest people we met in Thailand. He helped with every detail, from planning our days in Kanchanaburi to driving us to the motorcycle rental place, which was also a great company. The hotel itself was great, in a beautiful, peaceful location about a five-minute drive from the city center. The pool was nice and open 24 hours, and our room was large with a great shower. There wasn't much to dislike, though the bed was a little hard. We got used to it. Thanks, Beo!
