Star Hill River Kwai Resort

This was a good value resort near sai yok noi waterfall. The raft room had a splendid river view and a hammock, though the design was basic. Ours had a queen and a single bed, with the essentials covered. Parking is massive and even has EV chargers. The entrance road is steep, but a buggy is usually waiting at the carpark to help people get around. The sound carries badly through the creaky wooden planks, so you can hear people walking past both the front and main door. Our room faced the pontoon where people board for a swim upstream. At certain times, more than 50 people walked right outside the room, and it felt like a warzone. There’s a small pool, restaurants, and a couple of spots to enjoy the view. The restaurant has a few dishes depending on the season. The food wasn’t anything special, but it did the job at an affordable price. A buffet for 300 baht per person is available when there’s enough of a crowd. There are two ways out. From the main gate, turning right takes you along a small cemented road. Going left gives you about 4km of easy gravel and off-road trail to the exit. As an adventure rider, I always took the trail. Fun, and about 3/10 for difficulty. Highly recommended.
