I can say with certainty that what makes a destination special today isn't luxury or landscapes alone, it's the warmth and integrity of its people. This morning, I was walking with a large backpack and another bag when Savina spontaneously stopped her motorbike and kindly offered to take me to the pier. She expected nothing and asked for no payment, just showed genuine human care. I want to sincerely thank Savina Homestay for a gesture that says everything about Koh Libong and its people. Thank you for these beautiful moments on your island.

We had a nice stay, and paid 600 baht per night with free coffee available around the clock. The bedroom was clean, and the owner's friendly manner and kindness were much appreciated. It's a genuine homestay, so you share the house with the owner, a sweet, lovely elderly woman. She works on her own despite her age and slim build. We still wonder how she manages all that heavy work by herself. The bathrooms are shared with other guests and could be cleaner, but we don't blame her for that. The hygiene was still acceptable.

Koh Libong is a special place, with stunning scenery and such friendly people. I had a lovely stay at the sunrise homestay. The mother and son who run it are delightful. They made me feel at home and looked after me with lifts around the island, bike hire and a delicious breakfast.

We were lucky enough to see two dugongs on the boat trip the host arranged for us. Wildlife sightings can’t be promised, so that felt pretty special. My husband and I had a motorbike already, which made exploring the island easy, and I’d recommend renting one. The owner wasn’t there during our stay, but kept in touch in English on WhatsApp. His mother, who hosted us, was kind and helpful, and even gave us cold bottled water when we arrived. It’s a proper homestay. I only wish I spoke more Thai so we could communicate more easily. We know a little and relied on Google Translate quite a bit. I’d recommend staying here if you’re up for speaking and learning a little Thai.
