P's Loft Hostel

A nice room near Mahasarakam university.

Water came into the room when it rained and soaked the things I’d left there. The bathroom had drainage problems and a faulty handle, and it wasn’t properly clean, either. There were soap suds all over the bathroom door. It was awful.

The air conditioning didn’t work and the bathroom wasn’t clean. I also couldn’t check out early and had to leave at a specific time. The whole arrangement was confusing. I’ve never run into anything like it before.

I could hear everything from the other rooms throughout the night. Conversations, chairs scraping, footsteps by the door, clanging, and things being put down all came through the thin walls. Maybe it’s because the place has loft-style apartments with exposed concrete and no ceiling, or maybe there’s another reason, but the room definitely isn’t soundproof. The water pump next door was the worst part, since it was so noisy that it easily disturbed my sleep.
