The credit card part was weird: a day after checking in and paying the hotel charge, I started getting fraud alerts, and the same happened to my friend. We’d only used our cards for the room, though I’m not saying it was connected to the hotel. What a coincidence. The breakfast plates and coffee cups were stained and dirty, though the watermelon was good. Staff weren’t very helpful. They may sound sweet at the desk, but often had no information or couldn’t help. And don’t forget your room key. They won’t issue another one, instead they send housekeeping into your room to retrieve the key, even when you aren’t there. The hotel looks nice on its website, but it’s old, outdated and needs cleaning and maintenance. The facilities are huge, but there’s only one small old elevator, and depending on your room it can be far from reception. Parts of the main pool were dirty. The rooftop pool is small but cleaner than the main one. Towels are old and thin, and the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. I ended up with a painful stiff neck and shoulder. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but the weather is always hot and humid here. I’d spend a bit more for a beachfront hotel. This unfriendly, old, inconvenient place isn’t worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
