The room itself was comfortable, clean, and had what I needed as a solo traveler on a budget. The building looked worn from the outside, though the inside of my room was fine. The little pool seemed well kept, but I didn't use it, and the hillside setting behind a university was quiet with a nice view. Even without a motorbike, you can walk down to the main road to find a shared ride. I was wary after reading reviews and seeing how far the posted photos seemed from reality. Since I planned to spend most of my time out on a rented motorbike, I decided to try it anyway. I've stayed in worse places in Thailand's coastal towns, and for the price and Kathu location between Phuket City and Patong Beach, I felt it was worth the money. I'm posting realistic photos. About the complaints over water and electricity charges, those probably came from people renting monthly. That's common for apartments or rooms rented by the month in Thailand, where tenants cover utilities. I was there for a few hotel nights, and everything was included.

We slept so well here, the beds were among the most comfortable I've ever had. The pool was great, and we even spotted monkeys from our room. It's a peaceful spot with lovely nature sounds around us. Not a fancy hotel, but for the price we really loved it.

The common kitchen could use a tidy-up, but it has everything, including a mixer and microwave, so you can cook for yourself if you're tired of eating out and risking diarrhea. There are lots of shared spaces too, with a laundry room, sun terraces, sauna, meditation room, and gym. The rooms have air conditioning, a balcony, and a bathroom. The views are nice, the pool and gym are useful, and prices are affordable. Pets are allowed for an extra charge, so you'll see some cats and dogs around. I'd recommend it for solo travelers or couples.

The photos gave me the wrong idea. It doesn't look like them at all, so I'd skip this place.
