Luxtalay Khanom Hotel

We liked the location and setting, and especially that it's pet friendly. We didn't stay at the hotel. The cafe and drinks were okay, the strawberry mojito was about 3.5 stars, while the daiquiri was a five.

The beach is quiet, though there's quite a lot of shells in the sand, so it's not especially nice. The restaurant is fantastic, breakfast was very good, and the food in general was incredible, if on the pricey side. Both pools are lovely, and the room was stunning with every amenity you'd need. Check-in was super efficient and the welcome was friendly. Luxtalay hotel was one of my nicest hotel experiences in Thailand, and I'd highly recommend it.

We had round-the-clock help from reception over WhatsApp, and the room cleaning was very thorough. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a lovely terrace and amazing view. The cozy hotel grounds feel high standard, and the sun beds are very comfortable. The free minibar and bikes were a nice extra. The beach is lovely, with a few nice cafes within walking distance along it. Most of the restaurant food was good, though it seemed some cooks were better than others. The fried rice we had for breakfast every day was amazing sometimes and average at other times.

We first stopped here for one night's rest on the way to Samui, but ended up cutting our Samui trip short to spend the rest of our time here. It was so much quieter and more pleasant. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and jacuzzi baths. The restaurant food was gorgeous every night, especially the banana fritters, though service could be slow and inattentive. Watch out for the steps around the beach area, they blend into the ground. Someone in our group tripped and badly hurt his knee. Thankfully, it only caused pain and didn't damage the titanium brace inside or require hospital correction. Please put up some kind of hazard tape.
