Baan Mai Katoon Resort

June 10, 2023. The weather made the stay especially comfortable: it was the start of the rainy season, cool rather than hot, with mostly cloudy skies and very little sun despite a few rain clouds. Since it wasn't peak season, the place was quiet and uncrowded, with no traffic, and getting around to sit, eat, or sleep was easy. I picked it because the building is new and modern and is owned by the local community, so the money stays there. In the mornings the attentive owners brought rice porridge, boiled eggs, bread, and apples to my room. Thank you!

Evenings here are cool and pleasant, and the interior is nicely decorated and comfortable. You can pick either a wooden bungalow or a modern metal-box style room. It's a pretty resort with a good atmosphere, reasonably close to other attractions such as Blue Sky Resort. The price is fair and includes morning bread and coffee, or you can order food from outside to be delivered to your room. One catch: after dark, the entrance is hard to find because the sign isn't very visible.

The wooden house can get pretty cold, which was the one drawback for me. Still, everything you need is provided, and there's plenty of parking. The garden and view are lovely, and the bathroom is huge, almost the size of the bedroom. It's also easy to get to and close to Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew.

The bed was comfortable and the rice porridge tasted great. Both the room and bathroom had plenty of space, and the hot water worked well. Shampoo and body wash were there, though there wasn't a shower cap.
