The staff gave five-star service, and the peaceful, nature-filled setting was lovely. Water pressure was good, and while breakfast didn’t offer much variety, the servings were generous. The room was a little dated but still acceptable. Sleep was the problem. The bed was very hard, and the blankets didn’t feel worth the fairly high price. There was no kettle, and the uncovered window let sunlight fall straight onto the bed from 7 am. Light also bounced in from the bathroom, so it was hard to sleep properly. I’d planned to stay two nights and was quite disappointed. Several things need fixing.

The price for the accommodation wasn’t too high, but I have a complaint. A tour group was singing very loudly on the day I stayed. It went quiet for an hour, so I thought they were done, then the singing started up again and startled me awake. I couldn’t get any rest. If groups like that are going to be accepted, other guests shouldn’t be staying at the same time. It was terrible.

I’d suggest getting there while it’s still light, because the accommodation is set well back from the road and I got lost on my first visit. The atmosphere made up for that, though. Rooms are dotted along the hillside, with a great view and wind turbines visible far away. GPS put them about 30 km away on another mountaintop. I checked in on February 1st, 2021, after booking "Khao Kho Valley" through the "We Travel Together" project. I got discounts on both the accommodation and food. The owners also gave us helpful tips about attractions and participating restaurants. I was new to the project and hadn’t realized the app could show those restaurants. Breakfast was the usual spread of black coffee, bread, jam, butter, and one set of rice porridge, with refills available. The restaurant sits at the highest point, where the air is fresh and the view is great. You can see Wat Phra That in the distance. I didn’t go there this time because I’d visited before.
