The room was generally clean, and the wake park nearby felt peaceful and atmospheric, which is why I’m giving it two stars. But the pillow situation was a mess. We had two beds for two adults and our 10-year-old, and each bed came with just one pillow. When I went downstairs to ask for another, only the security guard was there. He insisted it would cost 100 baht, even though we needed a pillow that should have been on the bed, or one for a child sharing with us. About 5-10 minutes later he returned with a woman who seemed to work at the hotel, though she had no badge, uniform, or other sign she was staff. She handed over the pillow, and the guard repeated the charge. He even called someone so the woman on the phone could confirm the extra cost. I’ve stayed in thousands of hotels and never been charged for a pillow like this. The 100 baht itself wasn’t a big deal, but the desperate effort to collect it and the lack of customer awareness felt unprofessional, especially with the security guard enforcing such a ridiculous rule.
