Romena Grand Hotel

We return to Chiang Mai three or four times a year for vacation and stay at Rowena Grand Hotel for four days each time. The mountain views make it peaceful and quiet, and the rooms are bright and roomy, with lots of natural light and space. The morning market and Saturday Night Market are both just a three-minute walk away. Mr. Oat at the front desk deserves special thanks. He's polite, always greets us with a warm smile, and patiently answers all our questions. I'd highly recommend Rowena to friends.

I spent seven nights at the Romena Grand Hotel, in a quiet area with nice restaurants and cafés nearby, a 7/11 close by, and the Sunday night market within reach. The staff were kind and helpful, although they didn't speak much English. My room was clean, and daily service did a good job on both the room and bathroom, leaving a pleasant smell. They brought bottled water each day, which was a nice touch. The air conditioning was the problem. It was extremely cold and blew straight at me even after I turned the temperature up. The air felt very dry, and I coughed throughout the week. The cough stopped as soon as I left, so it seems the AC system may have made the air too dry or poorly ventilated.

The rooms were clean and spacious, with air con, and it was really good value for money. Staff were super friendly and kind. The location's great too, with a market two minutes away and old town just a five-minute walk.
