J-Boutique Hotel

The place has a quiet, clean feel and a nice Japanese inspired look. Staff were kind and happy to help with little requests, like swapping my pillow for a flat one. Google Translate was enough for us to communicate. The room had everything I needed, and the bed was super cozy. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m next in Khon Kaen.

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The price was reasonable, and breakfast looked fine, though by then I didn’t feel confident enough to try it. There were a lot of problems elsewhere: the sheets were dirty (see photo), the bedroom floor hadn’t been swept, and there was no bedside lamp. At 2:10 pm there was nobody at check-in, and the staff didn’t seem pleased to be interrupted from their other tasks. The soundproofing was terrible, I heard every word from next door. The drinking water smelled strange, the first time I’ve ever had hotel water smell weird. It didn’t feel very clean or welcoming, and not much like a boutique hotel.

It’s a lovely little boutique hotel, only about a three-minute walk from the lake. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The hotel feels new and the room was clean. The bed was the standout for me, really soft and comfortable.
