Sea Nature Rayong Resort and Hotel

We enjoyed the pool and the nearly private beach at this quiet resort, where there aren't many tourists. The facilities are pretty old, but clean, and they offer a simple breakfast. Some good, inexpensive restaurants are close enough to walk to. A lovely place to bring the kids!

The pool was nice and family-friendly, and the beach was quiet, though at times it was deserted and had debris. But the three-day stay was a poor experience. We booked two suites expecting adjoining rooms, as the website advertised, then discovered there's only one suite per floor. To get adjoining rooms, the other room would have to be a regular one. They wouldn't offer a refund or a discount for the extra person, so we ended up paying more than expected for what felt like a three-star hotel. Breakfast was lousy and the same old stuff each morning. For a resort at this price, I think you can find much better options.

The breakfast could use a serious upgrade. The resort has a huge pool and a nice spot right by the beach, but construction on a new building beside the pool brought noise throughout the day and spoiled the atmosphere. There was no mention of the work when I booked directly with the hotel.

The pool is lovely, though it could use more shade, and the beach stayed nearly empty even when the resort was almost full. It's a peaceful place, day and night, with comfortable rooms and two double beds. The mattress felt a little springy, but was fine. Breakfast is okay, and you can have eggs made how you like. The restaurant has a short menu and the dishes it does offer are good. Western choices are basically fries, a couple of sandwiches, and chicken nuggets, which are overpriced. Only one staff member speaks English, but he really goes out of his way to sort out problems. Rooms cost a bit, as you'd expect at this level, though it's still cheaper than the Marriot next door. I'd happily return. Update: After staying here over two years, I've noticed that room maintenance has slipped. The English TV channels are garbled, perhaps because of the satellite alignment. Food has also become quite expensive. A water pump cycles on and off all night, and it's loudest on the higher floors. It must be on the roof. The noise kept interrupting my sleep.
