Poem Coffee Shop is part of the hotel, which sits centrally on Beach Road. The building has five floors, a pool, a rooftop view desk, a ballroom, and a large secure parking area in the courtyard. Rooms are bright and spacious, but everything feels heavily worn. Cheap laminate flooring is warped enough to trip on, paint is cracking across the walls, and poor cleaning has left mold and dirt around the shower. It seems to have been built with cheap materials instead of quality ones. The staff came across as unfriendly and intimidated, so we didn't feel welcome. Breakfast was okay, but nowhere near what we had at the Mercure Hotel before. For the price, it needs renovation, and the staff need training and motivation.

The pool, parking, and location were good, and our room was clean and spacious. Still, the price felt high for what we got, more like a 3-star hotel than the cost suggests. Room service was missed once. On one of the four mornings the water pressure fell and there was no hot water. Then on our last morning, breakfast was unexpectedly cut back to very little, and I was asked to pay for eggs that had been complimentary on earlier days.

The cafe out front is amazing, and breakfast had a marvelous range of choices. Our room was clean, spacious, and well equipped, and the pool was wonderful too. It's a new hotel, and I’d definitely come back if I visited again. I liked everything that much.

It’s a quieter place to relax, with plenty of restaurants across the road by the beach and a local fish market nearby. We had a great stay in a large double room at a good price, with a pool looking out over the ocean. Thanks to Poem Hotel for the good service and stay.

The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, and cleaning happened only when we asked. There are uneven steps throughout the hotel that could cause a fall, including the main staircase, where the steps are different heights. It’s not suitable for elderly people. Cleaning was on request, not automatic.
