The beach setup was a real highlight, with shady places to sit and a nice swimming area. Each bungalow also had extra loungers to carry down if the shared chairs were taken, and there was a foot wash outside every one. The staff were kind and welcoming. The AC was powerful, the fridge worked well, and the outdoor drying area was handy. Inside, though, the room felt much tighter than it looked in the listing, and the bed was too hard for us. The plugs were awkwardly placed behind the pillows. Our duplex bungalow had poor sound insulation, between the open-air bathroom, road noise, and loud neighbors late at night. We could hear them as if they were in our room. There was quite a bit of rubbish in the grass beside our bungalow, and we couldn’t get the safe working. Breakfast was okay, just basic and nothing special.

The peaceful feel at Flora i Talay won me over, so I booked a stay as soon as I saw the clean, cozy room. I’d hoped to get 10 nights, but only 9 were available. For now I reserved 5 nights and am hoping a room opens up in January. It feels like the kind of place that leaves you calm and happy.

The best part is the beachside location and the price. If a dirty room won’t bother you much, it could still work. My bungalow had decent space, but it was pretty dirty, and the resort itself didn’t seem well kept or clean. If the feel and upkeep of the resort matter to you, Flora I Talay in Ko Chang could be a big disappointment. The staff were okay, though not especially warm. Breakfast was average, with limited choices but both Thai and European options. They also serve espresso for free at breakfast, which was nice.

We had a lovely room just a few dozen meters from the beach, and the staff were really kind. The restaurant was in the neighboring resort but close by, with delicious food. There were massages on the beach too. Perfect.

The bungalow was nice and so were the beach and breakfast. There were chairs by the pool as well. It was a good resort overall, but the doors and windows didn’t shut properly. Some gaps were big enough for fingers, so mosquitoes could get in easily.
