Grande Sun Seaside Villas

Tin Tin, the smart, playful dog, was a joy to spend time with. The owner, a kind and friendly grandmother, also made us feel welcome with homemade toast and fresh fruit. The guesthouse is spotless and well cared for, and the peaceful setting is a rare contrast to the busy west side of Koh Chang. Getting there isn't the most convenient, but the quiet makes up for it. In the morning, all you hear are birds and a soft breeze, and the sea view is breathtaking. The east coast water is so still and calm it feels more like a lake than the ocean. It's a lovely escape from everyday bustle, especially for people driving themselves and for families. I'll definitely return.

We ate breakfast at the restaurant, but went elsewhere for every other meal because the prices were a bit steep compared with what you'd normally expect. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the little two-story homes were interesting, comfortable, and had sea views. It's a cute place on the quiet side of Ko Chang, and it really is quiet, with very little going on. A good choice if you're after modern accommodation and a peaceful place to relax.

We planned on four days and ended up staying another six. The owners, Pookie and Bruce, are a lovely, friendly, professional couple who were very accommodating. They even let our little dog stay. Our villa was spotless, with a comfortable bed and a great view. Taking the kayak out early in the morning was a lovely way to start the day. We often ate all three meals there because the food was high quality, home-cooked, convenient, and hard to beat for the price. It had a home-cooked feel we often miss at the upscale hotels we usually choose for short breaks. This was the best holiday break we've had so far, and we'll be back as soon as work allows. Thanks, Pookie and Bruce, for such a wonderful holiday.

We spent three months at Crown View on our first visit to Koh Chang, and Bruce and Pooky looked after us so well. They're easily the best hosts we've ever had, and we'd gladly stay again. The homes at crown view are unique, unlike much else on the island, with a kitchen, a soft comfortable bed, a western-style home, and an ocean view from the bed, all at a great price. There's also an open restaurant serving very good food. Pooky and Bruce keep the property beautiful and well cared for. We also didn't have to worry about sand flies at Crown View, unlike in many other parts of the island. Looking forward to our next visit.
