VELA Dhi GLOW Pratunam

Shopping is easy from here: the hotel is across from Platinum Plaza and in the Pratunam area. The front-of-house team made the biggest difference. The staff were generally friendly, and the bellboy helped direct our grab driver to the porch so loading our luggage was straightforward. Getting around by grab wasn't so convenient. Since it's on the main road, drivers sometimes dropped us on the opposite side, meaning we'd have to cross back via the overhead bridge. The nearest train station is also quite a distance away, so it's not ideal for public transport. The lobby is on the 7th floor, and needing two lifts to reach the room was a bit of a hassle. The hotel lift's air conditioning seemed to be out, and at times it felt like a sauna. The room was decent, but cleanliness could be better. There was quite a bit of dust and hair trapped under the table, and one bedsheet smelled of smoke despite the non-smoking policy. Both pillows, including the softer one, were too high for me, so I slept with my neck pillow instead. Breakfast was okay in terms of choice, but the food quality was meh, among the worse I've had. The egg station and lemon butter were the only two things I thought were great. The Thai dishes were somehow subpar. I wanted to swim, but the pool didn't look clean, so I gave up. For a 4 star hotel, I expected more and probably wouldn't book again.

There’s a 24 hour MacDonalds downstairs and lots of other food places nearby, plus wholesale fashion shops on the 1st level. The hotel lobby is on the 7th floor. If you plan to spend most of your time in Pratunam, the location is ideal. Getting out of the area can be a pain, though: it's not near a BTS station, and traffic jams and road construction make grabbing a ride tricky. The rooms are spacious and clean, with really good pillows and a mattress that made for a good night's sleep.

We were three women staying at Vela Dhi Glow from Sat 25 to Tue 28 Oct 2025, for four days and three nights. Everything was lovely. The room was spotless each day, towels and linens were changed daily, and the mini fridge had complimentary bottled water. The coffee station was well stocked too. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning, with plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help. The major malls are all within walking distance, which made the location really convenient. There’s some construction on the front road at the moment, and traffic is a bit congested. Once that’s finished, this will easily be a 10/10 location. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Kheng and Jack deserve credit for the great service they gave us. With road construction making transport less accessible, they helped smooth out communication with the taxi driver for our pick-up. The location is great, and the massage at Siam Massage was great too. My only suggestion is to offer pillows with different firmness. Both pillows we got were quite hard, so one soft and one firm option would help us sleep better.
