Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway

We rented a motorbike and explored the island, including Lonely Beach and White Sand Beach. Back at the hotel, our spacious deluxe double had a beautiful look and a huge, very comfortable bed. The staff were kind, helpful, and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed everything we tried at the restaurant. Breakfast was simple, though we often ate out since there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We used the nice gym every day. It’s a family-friendly place with a peaceful feel, and we had a really lovely stay.

Bai Lan Bay is quiet and south of Lonely Beach. For nightlife or more street food, you’ll probably need a taxi or motorbike ride of about 5-10 minutes to Lonely Beach or Kai Bae. The private beachfront is rocky, so it’s lovely for sunsets and relaxing on bean bags but generally not good for swimming. There are two excellent pools, including a popular large free-form one by the ocean. Rooms range from Standard options to Private Pool Villas, and are generally spacious and modern with Thai touches. The villas are often recommended for couples wanting privacy. The Bay Restaurant serves Thai and international dishes, has ocean views, and is generally praised for its varied breakfast buffet. Facilities include a well-equipped gym, a spa with massages that guests often highlight, a Karaoke room, a Kids' Club, and beach fire shows on many evenings.

The breakfast has a great range of tasty things, and there are good restaurants nearby. This is a good pick if you want peace away from crowds. It’s around 40 minutes from the pier, though. The resort feels a little dated, but it’s well cared for and comfortable. The beachfront is calm, but the water can look muddy and it isn’t the white sand beach you might picture. Staff are exceptionally polite and always ready to help.

We spent a week here in late November and would happily come back. It’s excellent value, and the staff were wonderful, especially k. Aud, k. Cream, k. Beer and everyone else. The meals we had at the hotel were great, including a top-notch breakfast. I’ve stayed at plenty of accor hotels, but this place’s food quality stood out. You can tell good ingredients and care go into both the drinks and dishes. The resort is quiet and tucked away on its own stretch of beach. We spent our days by the water, enjoyed the excellent pool, and watched the sunset and beach views each day. The beach is beautiful, and there are two large pools. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and really nice. The hotel has been renovated and is kept in very good shape.
