The Lodge at Koh Kood

We were glad the host could check us in when we arrived at 11am. There’s no reception area, so keep that in mind if you have time to wait around at check-in or check-out. Later that evening we were told we’d been put in the wrong room and had to move all our things. We stayed eight nights in a standard room. It was adequate for the price, though dated, with a few worn or broken features. The shower kept flooding even after staff tried to fix it. If you want a more modern room with nicer features, the new modern bungalows are an option. The host was friendly and easy to reach on WhatsApp. The gardens are well kept, and the property is quiet with no neighbours. One of the island’s nicest beaches is about a five-minute walk away. There’s a cafe up the road, plus a few food options and a convenience store along the beach. Beyond those spots, a scooter is useful, since the uphill walk to the main road feels like a workout in the heat.

The owner is kind and accommodating, and you can hire bikes here. Everything is fairly central and close by, and the beach is only a couple of minutes away. We’re staying five nights. The accommodation is new and very clean, with daily room cleaning. It’s a good choice if you don’t need a sea or beach view and just want somewhere clean.

The host was wonderful. Our rental scooters were ready when we arrived, and when the ferry company’s pickup was delayed, he contacted them for us. The location is good, and the rooms are clean, modern and nice.

We stayed in the bungalow for a month and had a really comfortable time. The bed was great, and the place was super clean and peaceful. The owner helped us sort out a scooter, laundry and other things. It’s a minute from the beach, near the main road, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. I’d recommend it for a short or long stay, and hope to come back one day!
