Tinkerbell Resort

The location is beautiful, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Beyond that, I don't think Tinkerbell Resort lives up to its 5-star claim. We chose it based on its high rating, glowing reviews, and high price, and that trust turned out to be a mistake. The property needs major renovation. Everything feels old, especially the bathroom, where the fixtures are rusted and even the water tastes salty. There is no gym, spa, or hotel activity of the kind we'd normally expect at a 5-star property. After looking at other hotels on the island, we found many that seemed much better and cost less, some under half what we paid. If the resort dropped the 5-star advertising and charged at least half as much, it could be a lovely option for travelers who value the location and friendly staff. At its current price and with that claim, it just doesn't meet expectations.

We tried a few restaurants around the island, but there aren't many, and the hotel restaurant was clearly the best of them. The food was first class, and the hotel staff were excellent. Koh Kood is a very quiet island, and choosing Tinkerbell was a wise call for us. The hotel was lovely, with a fantastic location and a very clean room. Nights there are quiet too.

We only meant to stay a few days, but liked it enough that we wanted to add another night. There were no rooms available, so next time I'll book a longer visit. Thanks to all the hotel staff for making my vacation feel so lovely and perfect. The private pool was why we picked this place, and it was perfect for relaxing and playing in the water. The beautiful beach is just a few steps away. The decor feels right for the weather, and the well-kept trees make the grounds pleasant. Reception staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Their greeting was simple, but it felt like being with people we'd known for ages. Even a little help from the staff made us want to come back. There are food and drinks available here. This island spot feels like heaven on earth. 🙏 The one thing I'd change is the fresh coffee.

The photos on Booking.com and Google are outdated and manipulated, and they give a misleading picture of what a pool 'villa' costs at 300 euros a night. Tinkerbell is nowhere near a 5-star resort. The rooms, bathrooms, and upstairs terrace look at least 20 years old and haven't been properly renovated or maintained. Mosquitoes filled our room every night. The doors have huge gaps when closed, so they get in easily, and the bathroom fan and tiles are covered in mold. Management offered no compensation. Worse, they didn't reply to our justified complaint through booking.com or to the email booking sent them, so we couldn't get reimbursed for the misleading advertising and the poor state of the room and breakfast.
