The rooms we were shown all had a strong mold smell, and after a few minutes it became so overwhelming it gave us a headache. We looked at about five rooms, but the smell was the same in each one. The staff were polite and tried to help by showing us alternatives, but none seemed comfortable enough for us to stay. We didn't want to risk our health, so we cancelled and moved to another hotel. We'd booked this Koh Lanta hotel hoping for a simple place with a nice pool. On arrival, though, the property gave us the impression it wasn't well maintained. We hope the hotel addresses the conditions for future guests. We ask that they allow an honest account of our personal experience.

It felt like a ghost town, with nothing open and no facilities beyond a room and a pool. Getting to the pool meant climbing loads of stairs, and around it were dirty, broken beds and broken umbrellas. Our superior sea view room was huge but had no furniture, and the mold smell was awful. There was no kettle, just an antiquated water heater, although even the receptionist had a proper kettle. No bar, restaurant, or anything else. Don't waste your money staying here.

Really nice hotel for the price, and the staff are very well trained in Western customer service. In high season, check-in may be at 2 pm. If you're there early, take a small bag and spend the time at the pool, beach, or one of the many nearby restaurants.

We'd been looking forward to spending Christmas here, but the resort looked run down and there were no other guests around. The staff were very friendly, but the place wasn't as advertised and it was a total letdown. When our room door opened, a mold smell hit us straight away, and there were ants and bugs inside. We quickly booked another resort and left.

The buildings are a little dated and could use some TLC, but the place has a charming feel and a very five-star atmosphere. Rooms are clean, well appointed and large, with a big bathtub and a separate shower. There's beach access nearby, sea views, and an infinity pool.
