Coco Cape Lanta Resort

The pool and the view were amazing, and the food and cocktails were delicious. We stayed in the family bungalow, which worked perfectly for five, and the rooms were clean. The toilet was clogged, but they fixed it as soon as we let them know. Staff were lovely and helpful with renting a car, arranging a cruise, and finding a transfer. Such a beautiful place.

The restaurant could run more smoothly. Breakfast was supposed to start at 07:00, but on several days the coffee and some dishes weren’t ready until later. Tables sometimes stayed uncleared for a long time, and drinks occasionally came after the meals. Some food arrived less warm than it should have, and dishes weren’t served to everyone at the same time. A bit of basic staff training could help with that. Still, we had a very pleasant family stay at Coco Cape. The views are outstanding, and spending time on the balcony was a real highlight. Staff were consistently kind and welcoming, and the pool area is well placed beside the bar and restaurant, especially nice at sunset. Our room was clean, though there wasn’t much storage and the bathroom could use an update. Those were small issues alongside the good atmosphere and overall experience.

The bungalow overlooking the sea and sunset was superb, and the hotel’s peaceful location away from Lanta’s bustle suited both couples and families. Staff were friendly and helpful, and reception could arrange excursions, scooter rentals, transfers, and more. It’s a solid three-star hotel and delivers what you’d expect at that level. Food was the main letdown. Breakfast was already cold by 7 a.m., and meals cost about twice as much as in town despite being lower quality. I think the food offering needs work. Breakfast warmers and more variety would make a real difference. Best regards!

We stayed at Coco Cape three years ago with our young daughter and were excited to return with our 12-month-old son. We booked months ahead, had confirmation, and even reconfirmed the pier pickup two days before arrival. After a long day of travel with the children, nobody was there to collect us. Calls and emails went unanswered, so we took a tuk tuk to the hotel. The owner spent about 15 minutes acting as if she were checking us in, then said there was no room and claimed we hadn’t confirmed. We showed her the emails confirming both the accommodation and pickup. She eventually admitted she had sold our room a few days earlier, presumably for a higher price. It was peak season and there was almost nowhere else available. The owner took us to other accommodation that was completely unsuitable and out of town. The only place we could find was a high-end resort, so we’re badly out of pocket and devastated. So disappointing and heartbreaking. Do not book.
