D.R. Lanta Bay Resort

We had the Family room for two weeks in mid-April and couldn’t fault the resort. It was beside the pool and less than a minute from the beach. The room was cleaned every day, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included daily, with a good range for adults and kids. We’ll definitely be back!

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at D.R. Lanta Bay Resort. The place felt abandoned, with no other guests and hardly any activity. There was nowhere on site to eat or buy food and drinks, which was a major inconvenience with children. Rubbish and debris around the grounds added to the neglected feel. We were upgraded, but that didn’t make up for being booked into a resort that clearly shouldn’t have been taking guests in its condition. Management knew we had booked seven nights and were travelling with children, yet never told us that there would be no other guests and few or no services. We left after one night because we didn’t want the rest of our holiday ruined. The lack of transparency made the stay dull and frustrating, especially for the kids. Under these conditions, I don’t think the resort should be open for business. We didn’t get the honesty, facilities, or welcoming atmosphere guests deserve. I strongly recommend avoiding it until serious improvements are made.

The beach is stunning, clean, and dotted with food places. Pretty seashells wash up, and little crabs scurry about near the water. Wherever you look, it’s breathtaking. This resort is right on the beach, with two lovely, very clean pools, a restaurant, and laundry service. Laundry costs 50 bath/kg, and comes back clean, dry, and folded the same day. The service was excellent. The staff helped warmly with anything we needed. The spacious bungalows have private bathrooms, with two sharing one roof. It’s a beautiful place, especially for families, though couples may find it a bit noisy.

We couldn’t have been happier with what we got for the price. It’s not a luxury resort, but the grounds are very well maintained, the staff are super polite, and the food was quite good, with a nice breakfast selection. Our family bungalow was fantastic: spacious and modern, with a big veranda. The location is amazing, right beside a stunning beach.
