Lanta Casa Blanca

The beach is rocky, with only a small area where you can swim, though the location is handy for reasonably priced beach restaurants and places along the main road. Breakfast worked well for us: a modest buffet, plus plenty to order, including freshly made rotti. The resort feels calm and family friendly, and the clean pool and thoughtful, quirky bungalow designs are lovely. Staff were very helpful. Our pool villa was attractive and had a big pool, but there were gaps around the doors. Towels didn't keep the bugs and cockroaches out of the rooms and bathroom, which wasn't acceptable at that price. On two occasions our room wasn't cleaned despite us putting out the sign, and they left only water and toilet paper outside. Room service dishes also sat there until I took them back to the kitchen myself the next day. The place looks immaculate, and we had a good stay, but some things need attention.

We rented a scooter from the property, which was convenient and cost about the same as renting one on the street. The room was spacious, quiet, clean, and nicely decorated, and everyone working there was incredibly friendly and helpful. We spent two nights here and had a lovely time. There are lots of places to sit by the pool and take in its ocean view, especially at sunset. They also put on a fire show with a DJ one evening, which we enjoyed.

Relax Bay suited us because we like a quiet beach, small places, and fewer people. It may be too posh for anyone after beach bungalows, and people wanting more choices might prefer Klong Kong or Long Beach on the northern beaches, or most places in the south. But we're a bit weird, and this is my favorite. The setup in the room and around the pool was beautiful, and the service was the best. If you stay at Relax Bay, Lanta Casa Blanca should be your best and only option.

The rooms and villas were really nice, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was super nice too. The resort is right by the beach, though it's a bit far from the restaurants and bars in Sala Dan. We rented a scooter to get around, which cost a lot less than taking tuk tuks or other taxis. Wonderful place, highly recommended.
