Lanta Complex

My daughter paid in advance for a reservation through Booking.com, but on arrival the staff said they'd given the room to someone else. They refused to refund her or offer any solution, even though she had a clear booking confirmation. Koh Lanta has plenty of good hotels, so don't waste your money at Lanta Complex, where guests are treated this way. Avoid this place. WARNING, don't book here.

You're basically staying with a Muay Thai family and gym, and the lady running it is really friendly. She's also very busy, so you have to catch her to get help. We stayed in room S1, which I'd avoid at all costs because of the terrible noise and broad daylight. There's also a 5am call from the mosque behind. The location is good, and you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't recommend staying here if you can't handle a lot of issues.

Our reserved family room wasn't available when we arrived, and they offered us two rooms that were the worst I've seen. Everything was very dirty, the toilet was broken, there were ants in the room, and the bedsheets were dirty. We managed to find two rooms at another hotel. Don't waste your time or money here. I gave it one star, but it should be zero.

The apartment kitchen was well equipped. This place is an eclectic mix of rooms and designs, with prices at different levels. The mosque is very close, so the Muslim prayer can be heard quite loudly inside the rooms each morning. The room we booked in advance had a not very nice smell, so we switched to another one and paid extra.
