The garden setting is lovely, and the staff are excellent. The food is unbelievable, easily one of the two or three best meals we’ve had during a month traveling around Thailand. I’ve never had a better massaman curry or sweet-and-sour chicken.

My friend and I arrived late for dinner, and I’m so glad we picked this place. We had shrimp pad thai and chicken basil stir-fry, or pad krapao, and both were really good. We also ordered a mai thai cocktail and Thai tea. The atmosphere was lovely, our waiter gave great recommendations, and the service was quick. I’d absolutely come back. Thanks for a lovely evening!

We came two nights in a row and will be back again. Try the Thai fried chicken and any of the Chef’s specials. If you like curry, the massaman is a must. We ordered it spicy 3/5 and it was deliciously hot. Do Not Order 5/5… Thai Smile restaurant is a precious Thai Food Gem on Koh Lanta. I was tempted to keep it to myself, since fame can dim a place’s sparkle, but they deserve recognition for their clear flavors and Thai Food BRILLIANCE. Dave’s wife, Lek, a five star resort chef, runs the kitchen. Dave makes colorful conversation and killer Mai Tais, while their multi-lingual, culturally gifted waiter makes everyone feel like a neighbor. On our next Thailand holiday, we’ll try to book one of Thai Smiles’ bungalows for the atmosphere and more Thai Smile food. KOB CUN KRUB!

We liked relaxing in the garden, away from the busy road and beach, even after we’d finished eating. The food, staff, and setting were all excellent, and service was quick. We came back another day because the food was so good. We were surprised by how fast the order arrived without any drop in quality.

I first booked for two days, but the place was so cozy and nice that I added six more. It’s family-owned, and Dave and Lek made me feel at home. The rest of the crew were amazing too. I rented a bike and rode all around the island, trying food everywhere. If you want really good Thai food, eat here. Lek cooks everything from scratch. This was the best stay and food of my whole 40-day trip around Thailand. Thanks, Dave, Lek, and the crew. 5/5 stars! ❤️
