Lanta Happy Hill Resort

The shady, tree-lined paths and individual villas made the grounds feel peaceful and beautiful. Each bed had a great mosquito net in case any got inside, and the kitchenette was handy for storing and heating food. We also loved the front porch after a hot day at the beach. The nearest beach really is a five-minute walk, across the street and down one soi. But what made Lanta Happy Hill feel like home was P. Ying. She put extra effort into making sure our group of four had an incredible stay and knew all the best local contacts and recommendations. I think she said she'd managed the hotel for nearly 15 years. After checkout, she even helped us out of a difficult situation with an unscrupulous ferry transport company, and quite literally saved the day for us and the rest of our trip. We loved the cleaning system too: just hang the sign if you want cleaning, instead of having staff come every day for no reason. We'll absolutely be back again and again!

The bathrooms were a lovely mix of indoors and outdoors. You can hear wildlife outside, but it stays outside while you're in the shower. The rooms were comfortable and reasonably priced, and the staff were caring. It felt like an oasis among the trees, just moments from the Beach, with a row of restaurants only a minute from the door. Would highly recommend!

The bungalow was so beautiful and homely, with a balcony where we enjoyed our morning fruit plates. We loved the kitchen in its own separate room too, since the fridge noise didn't bother us. The property’s two cats will stay in our hearts for a long time! We were so glad we found this accommodation and ended up extending our stay twice. The host was sincere and ran the place with love and devotion. She was always sharing recommendations about where to go, and had such a sweet, humble presence. The location felt central to everything but still intimate, tucked into the forest where we could be among nature by ourselves.

Happy Hill was a wonderful place to stay. Staff were incredibly kind and always went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. The location was hard to fault: a five-minute walk to the beach, with some of the best restaurants in Koh Lanta all around. Thank you so much!
