Lanta Ray Bay Hotel

Nam at the front desk was the best part of our stay. She was friendly, quick to help, and great with anything we needed. The location is handy for the beach, though road traffic means you can hear cars and motorcycles nearby. The room and upkeep didn’t live up to the photos or the glowing reviews we’d read. Rooms are small and dim, with just two rather old bath towels and no hand towels or bath mats. The shower leaves most of the bathroom floor wet, including around the toilet, which was inconvenient. There are no beach towels, either, despite being so close to the beach. Breakfast was very basic, and it felt like the cheapest options had been chosen. Cleanliness was another problem: we had to ask several times to get the hallways swept, and there are a number of trip hazards around the property that need care. The facilities and maintenance fell short of what we expected.

The friendly, peaceful feel of Lanta Ray Bay Hotel made our trip so enjoyable. Nam and Nas were especially warm and treated us like family. They helped with everything from transport to laundry, always with a smile, and made things so much easier for us. Farhan was our favourite employee by far, too. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely kept. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and close to good food, cafés, and other things to explore in Koh Lanta. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Nam, Nas, and Farhan for making it unforgettable.

The staff and location made this a very good place to stay, and we’d happily recommend it. We were here for about a week and a half, and the team were kind and ready to help with scooter rental, trips, laundry, and anything else we asked about. Everything you need is just around the corner. Cleaning was good, though sometimes tissues or toilet paper were missed and we had to ask. They were always provided when requested. A few little things could be improved, like updating the balcony furniture, adding nicer seating by reception, and making sure rooms always have the basics such as a kettle, cups, or a door sign.

The view from the corridors is incredible, the room price was more than fair, and the nights were calm and restful. It’s a five-minute walk to the beach, and the hotel’s mid-island location made it easy to get around by scooter. We rented one directly from the hotel for a good price, and it worked perfectly for exploring. Rooms were cleaned daily. We stayed five nights at Ray Bay Hotel in Koh Lanta. The welcome was warm, with orange juice on arrival, and check-in went smoothly. The man at reception was lovely and always smiling. A big thank you to the kind, honest, attentive and helpful lady who was there with her baby. The place is run by Muslims, and the people there were very friendly and honest, like the island’s inhabitants. Smaller pillows would have been more comfortable for our necks. We’d recommend this place 10000% and will certainly be back.
