Coco Lanta Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

The cottage was on the small side, but comfortable, with a nicely sized bathroom and a porch out front where we could relax. We had a wonderful week at Coco Lanta. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was included in our room rate, with omelettes made to order and a lovely selection of fruit. The location was great for watching the sunset each evening, with plenty of places within walking distance.

I didn’t stay here, just stopped in for food and drinks. The T-bone steak was pretty good for the price, and the other dishes I tried were also good. The food quality seemed quite high compared with most beachfront restaurants. They also have happy-hour cocktails.

We came during rainy season and were pleasantly surprised by how attentive the staff were, easily five-star service. The restaurant serves very generous portions, and the rates were reasonable. I’d happily come back.

The only downside for me was how few walking routes there are around the area. That’s down to the location, not the resort. Everything else was great, and I’d definitely return. You’ve got pretty much everything close by: the sea and beach, a lovely pool, good food, drinks, a gym, and Thai massages at a very good price. The restaurant costs a little more than others nearby, though it’s certainly not the worst. The gym equipment is old and dusty, but you can still get a workout in. The rooms are cozy, and staff are friendly. I also liked getting a reusable bottle on arrival, which we could refill with the drinking water provided during our stay.
