Lanta Sand Resort & Spa

The staff made this stay special. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Merry at reception, if I got the name right, and the woman who handled tours, transfers, and scooter rentals, whose name I didn’t catch. On checkout day we left our luggage, spent the day at the beach, then used an available empty room to shower and freshen up before going to the airport. We booked a villa for three nights. The villas are small standalone houses with two separate entrances, each leading to a hotel-style room. Ours had a large double bed, sofa bed, spacious bathroom, outdoor shower, and small private pool. It was very close to the sea, and we could use the hotel’s private beach area with loungers and sofas. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious, with bread, rice, eggs and pancakes made to order, fresh fruit, and hot dishes. The beach in front was beautiful, and the location is roughly an hour’s walk or a ten-minute taxi or tuk tuk ride from the pier, where there are small restaurants and street markets. The rooms were very good, though the hotel has been around for a while and could use a refresh or renovation in the coming years. The beach and bathroom towels had some small holes and looked worn, but were always clean and freshly laundered. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The beachfront setting was a highlight: plenty of loungers, warm weather, the sea view, and the sound of the waves made it a peaceful spot to unwind. The rest of the property was well maintained, with lovely landscaping and a relaxing atmosphere. We stayed two nights at Lanta Sand Resort and Spa, and it was good overall for a short visit. Our villa had a private small pool that had clearly seen better days. The room and bathroom could use renovation to bring them up to the resort’s otherwise high standard. It was comfortable, with excellent outdoor facilities, but the villas need updating.

The beach was the highlight for us: it was lovely, easy to get to, and never crowded, so it felt really peaceful. We also liked the hotel facilities, especially the main pool area, and the bar drinks were very good. The pool at our bungalow didn’t look inviting, though. Our room felt a little dated, like it had seen better days. Even so, we had a good stay and enjoyed it.

The resort was a comfortable place to spend our three days, and we enjoyed the stay. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful and quick to respond. The location was excellent for sunsets, with a nice outdoor setup and easy beach access. It was a peaceful place to spend time. There are several pools, including two by the beach, and the resort also has a spa. Food was okay, though there weren’t many vegetarian choices. I’d avoid booking through the travel desk: they charge a lot, and agents near the pier, about a six-minute drive away, can offer the same things for much less.
