Lanta Summer House

We spent three weeks in house 119 and were very comfortable overall. The pool was lovely, clean, and cool, and the staff were friendly. Chip Lanta was accommodating whenever we asked for something. The cleaners came every day, and our extra breakfast was simple but enough for us. Lunch was available too, though the restaurant closed at 4:00 PM. That wasn't an issue with plenty of restaurants along the beach, plus smaller shops and a 7-Eleven about an eight-minute walk away. The beach itself is very nice. The accommodation was quite worn, with old furniture and very tired plastic chairs on the terrace. The connecting door to the neighboring house was the worst part: we could hear absolutely everything. We were lucky there was only one person staying across the hall, and can't imagine how it would've been with a family. The post-swim shower wasn't really usable either. Water only dripped from the head, and the stones around it had been carelessly set in the sand, so you had to watch your step and couldn't stand upright while showering. It felt like nobody had paid attention to these details. The beach loungers weren't inviting, squeezed together under a roof like people on a bus. We didn't use them. That was about the only shady spot on the beach, so there weren't many options unless you brought your own parasol, which we did. Even with those shortcomings, we felt very comfortable.

For the price, this hotel is very good. The little bungalows are comfortable, and everything else was great. The only drawback is the soundproofing.

The owner is thoughtful and always around with useful advice. This is a lovely, spotless, well-kept place with beautiful materials and everything carefully considered. An extremely welcoming family runs it, and the people here are truly warm.

The staff treated me well during my visit, and the rooms were reasonably priced.
