Twin Bay Resort

A lovely stay, with good food, a great pool, and Locky beach. The resort is especially good for families. What really stood out was the staff: Nick, Mook, Nickie, and the rest were friendly, helpful, genuine, and professional. Wonderful people with good hearts.

This is a quiet, beautiful spot right by the beach, with a nice pool. The rooms and pool are larger than they look in the photos, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s an easy, inexpensive drive to restaurants and the market. The hotel can also arrange good drivers for transfers, including pickup in Phuket. Recommended.

The only real bright spot was the polite, kind reception team. The sea view was nice too, though there was little privacy because people kept walking past the balcony. The room felt very underwhelming for the price, with no wardrobe or bathrobes and barely any water pressure. When we asked about the shower, we were told, “That’s how it is.” Breakfast was among the worst we had in Thailand: little choice, poor quality, and badly cooked eggs. There’s no gym, games, or activities at the hotel, and the scooter we rented through them had worn tires and felt unsafe. We also felt on edge about extra charges. A glass broke by accident and we were charged 200 baht, and there’s a long list of fines for damaged or missing things. The hotel is isolated, the road is mostly dark at night, and getting out means renting a scooter or paying for the tuk-tuks waiting outside. Most nearby cafés focus on cannabis, which wasn’t for us. Poor value for money. We wouldn’t return or recommend it.

The photos really don’t show how nice Twin Bay Resort is. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised, and liked the laid back feel. The rooms were comfortable and well kept, although the beds were quite firm. The pool faces the beach and has loungers in both shady and sunny spots. It’s not close to much, but a few bars and restaurants are walkable along the road. A tuk-tuk into the main street, bars, and night market costs 200 baht, and there were usually a couple waiting outside. Reception staff were very helpful. I’d recommend Twin Bay to people staying in Koh Lanta.
