Seavana Beach Resort Koh Mak

We loved taking the free kayaks over to nearby Koh Kham. It was a great way to explore from the water. The beachfront villa also gave us a wonderful view of the calm, shallow sea, and the resort's quiet setting made it easy to switch off and relax with nature. My wife and I spent two memorable nights at Seavana Resort. The staff were warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout, which made us feel valued. The food was a highlight too: the sushi bar served some of the best sushi we've had on our travels, fresh and beautifully prepared. Breakfast was à la carte, with lots of variety and very good quality. There were already mosquitoes in our room at check-in, and the bed net didn't fully keep them away. We may simply not have known how to use the net properly, and it didn't significantly affect our stay. Seavana Resort was a peaceful place to slow down, and we'd happily return. We recommend it to couples looking for quiet time together.

Jim at reception was especially lovely, and all the staff were super friendly. We tried both the deluxe beachfront room and the superior sea view room, and liked the superior one more for its incredible views, privacy, and quiet. All we could hear was the jungle and sea. It felt magical. The west side of the island also seemed cleaner than the east. At the resort, the kayaks and paddle boards could use replacing, and removing the single-use bathroom items would help cut plastic and waste. We'd highly recommend Seavana and hope to visit again soon.

We didn't realize it was so close to walking street. The rooms were spacious and nice, and the food was really good. Breakfast had lots of fresh options. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make our three-night stay special. We'll stay longer next time and will definitely come back.

The beach area is great, and the whole hotel grounds are clean and well kept. The bungalows are clean, spacious, and in a good spot, though a little dated. Walking Street is easy to reach on foot, and you can rent motorbikes or golf carts at the hotel. The staff were always very friendly, and both breakfast and dinner were tasty. The big problem was the sun loungers and hammocks. People who clearly weren't guests took them every day, often leaving no room for actual guests. When challenged, they said they were staying at the hotel, though they had no hotel wristbands and weren't using hotel towels. It led to constant, unpleasant arguments, and staff said they couldn't do anything. That's a real shame. I would've booked again without hesitation otherwise, but don't want those discussions again.
