The location is handy, close to the beach and quiet at night, and the owner/manager was friendly and helpful. He did call us four times while we were still on the ferry, which felt a little odd, and he can come across as slightly creepy, though I think he’s just friendly and has trouble with social interaction. We had no issue with him, and I wouldn’t treat that as a reason to avoid the place. The bigger problem is the cost. At 2,000 THB a night, the tiny rooms feel far too expensive, even if that’s acceptable by Ko Phi Phi standards when booking last minute. They smell moldy, including from the bathroom door and mattress, and there’s mold throughout the bathroom. Outside, the fish market just below gives off a fishy smell. At 500 THB a night I’d give it four stars, but the price is the issue.
